America - the land of free speech and liberty …… NOT!
Police State a state in which the government exercises rigid and repressive controls over the social, economic and political life of the population, especially by means of a secret police force.
A police state typically exhibits elements of totalitarianism and social control, and there is usually little or no distinction between the law and the exercise of political power by the executive. In the police state, rights are non existent and laws are selectively enforced.
The inhabitants of a police state experience restrictions on their mobility, and on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to police monitoring or enforcement. Political control may be exerted by means of a secret police force, which operates outside the boundaries normally imposed by a constitutional state.

If we don’t take a stand for what we believe in - they will take our stand away!

Dear civilian - your freedom has been limited due to the vast number of people trying to exercise their free will.
May we take this opportunity of welcoming you to the police state.

Well done to all the students around the country who had the bollocks to stand up and march against cuts to education/increase in fees. There are still lots of people in the UK who would quite happily lie back and take all the coalition government throw at them.
The 130,000+ students are an inspiration, we can fight the cuts and students are leading the way. Now come on Union leaders - get off your arses and organise a NATIONAL demo NOW!

Excellent student protest picture captured by Charli Whitman, really does say it all!

British students finally learn some French!
* While I do not condone the actions during the demo in London by a small number, I am happy that 50,000 students made the effort to attend the protest in London. May we see more protests like France has seen in recent days. For too long we have sat back and done nothing - while day after day this government has hammered the working class.
Anger is mounting and more clashes like the one pictured above will take place, fuelled evermore if the police get heavy-handed. The anger needs to be channelled, and used for good. Young people feel very let down by the main political parties and this needs examining.
